Our

mission

The Karatina Road Race initiative provides a platform to sensitize the local community particularly the youth on the dangers of abuse of illicit brews and drugs including the consequent problems at homes such as gender violence where women are suffering the most.

Proceeds from the Race will go towards continuous mentorship ......... drugs. They will also be used in mentoring young couples caught up in domestic violence arising from abuse of illicit brews.

Funds will also be used to train and polish the skills of local unknown artists including musicians, singers, dancers, acrobats, street performers, poets, fine artists and others. They will also be trained on how to market themselves online. This is guided by the belief that any busy and engaged youth does not abuse illicit brews and drugs. These artists will be expected to later join the campaign against illicit brews and drugs through the use of their art.

Race

schedule

8.30 am

preparation

Participants do not run a Road Race to win. More important for most runners is their personal finish time and their placement within their gender and age.

9.00 am

start

Strategies for completing a Road Race include running the whole distance and a run-walk strategy. Average time is 4 hours 32 minutes.

1.00 pm

cutoff

A goal many runners aim for is to break certain time barriers. For example, first-timers often try to run the Road Race under 4 hours.
